Wreaths Across America at Desert Lawn

Chapter Projects

Kennewick Chapter, NSDAR, members contribute to service projects at the local, state, and national levels. Some of our current volunteer work supports Project Patriot, Wreaths Across America, and the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War.

DAR Project Patriot Committee

Locally, our chapter members support the men and women serving abroad in any way appropriate. Activities could range from adopting a platoon or sending care packages to an individual service member stationed overseas.

Wreaths Across America

Our chapter helps to raise funds for the wreaths that are placed on our local veterans' graves at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick. We have participated in this meaningful program since 2015. Volunteers, including our chapter's members, help place the wreaths and conduct the National Remembrance Ceremony. To sponsor a wreath please go to our chapter's sponsorship page on the Wreaths Across America website.

50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War

Kennewick Chapter, NSDAR, is reaching out to the community to identify veterans who served in the Vietnam War. In honor of the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War, we are issuing certificates of recognition to the veterans and showing our appreciation for their service, sacrifice and valor. We are also honoring the families of the veterans, Prisoners of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA). We are so proud to have already honored over 300 local veterans at several Vietnam veteran appreciation ceremonies since 2015. We also presented certificates to Vietnam War veterans at the Traveling Vietnam Wall at City View Cemetery in Pasco over Memorial Day Weekend 2017.

Vietnam War Commemoration

Thank You for Your Service!!!
